ENGINEERED STONE
Engineered stone is a material made from crushed marble and quartz, bound together with strong adhesive and resin binders. It has similar properties to granite as it is resistant to heat, scratches, abrasions and cracking. Its brute strength is ideal for homes and its non-absorbent properties make it stain resistant also.
Because it is an engineered stone, there is an extensive range of colour options available. It also looks natural and is very similar in appearance to marble and granite. Its uniform colour and minimal imperfections also make it a very attractive stone to use in your home as it has a consistent look and pattern.
GRANITE
Natural granite is produced within the Earth’s crust when molten magma cools, forming large crystals. Granite is the hardest structural stone formed, which makes it an ideal choice for bench tops and flooring as its internal structure holds great status, strength and durability.
The different minerals that make up granite give it unique colours, which are available in a stylish array of patterns and finishes. Granite is a hardwearing and low maintenance stone that will retain its stunning look for many years.
Granite is able to withstand high heat, which is why it is a perfect option for kitchens. It is also not a highly porous material, making it sanitary and easy to clean. Due to its resistance to heat, cracking, scratches and cutting, there is minimal damage to the surface. Once sealed, it is also stain resistant.
MARBLE
Marble is formed when limestone is exposed to high temperatures and high pressure. Due to its durability, it is widely used as a building material and for interior design purposes. Like granite, marble can be polished and is also available in a range of colours due to the minerals present.
Marble often has incredible design patterns and decorative veining, which will add an everlasting, elegant and unique appeal to your home. When properly maintained, marble in kitchens, bathrooms, floors, walls and countertops will last many years.
